The Future of American Soccer
November 12, 2006
Have you heard the news? Finally, MLS has put the all important stake in the ground for professional youth development with the launch of MLS’ New Youth Development System. Its been a long time coming and this is a positive step for American Soccer not just the MLS. This will be interesting to see all the new talent uprise from the local communities and it should foster stronger club connection. I personally can’t wait to hear and see some of the new young players come up through the system - the American System. Although, there will still be an enourmous amount of talent outside of the MLS markets to be discovered and we need to find a way to develop this talent as well - just something to think about!
As we look forward to today’s MLS Cup final and the future of Ameican soccer, I just wanted to provide you and update on what we — the Ziga Zoga team — have been working on. Over the past month or so, we have been developing the first phase or Tier I of a new online space specificly for the soccer community. We hope to share it with everyone very soon but, first we’d like to share it with just a few of you in the blogoshpere to get some feedback before our beta program begins. So, if you are one of the first ten (10), people to express an interest to participate in our feedback session please email me at jason.cronkhite <at> gmail.com .
Cheers,
Jason
