Ziga-Zoga Conference Call

December 11, 2006

Come learn more About Us on a conference call this week.

For those of you that have directly expressed your interest to learn more about Ziga-Zoga - Thank You!  For those who want to learn more, we will be hosting a national conference call either this Wednesday or Thursday @ 7:00 PM CST TBD.  This will be our first virtual meet-up to explain what we are up to before the holiday.  Our call in number is 1.605.990.0400 and the access key will be distributed once you have confirmed your attendance by sending an email to zigazoga <at> gmail.com.

Here is a snapshot of things to come:

Zikki-Zakki was originally a chant by German futbol fans imploring their   players to zig zag through the opponent and onto victory (“zikki-zakki zikki-zakki hoi hoi hoi”).
Now, the spirit of that European chant has evolved into America’s newest soccer community dedicated to players, coaches, parents, fans and, yes, even referees, with the mission of developing a relentless grassroots movement to grow the beautiful game in North America and beyond.
Welcome to Ziga-Zoga (pronounced: Zig-ga Zāg-ga) – a revolutionary multiple-level website and community portal that will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and capabilities to enhance how soccer is played, taught, viewed and shown across the United States.  But we’ll need help from the extended soccer community to build and develop Ziga-Zoga from what it is today to what it will be tomorrow.
Our battle cry is “Get Stuck In,” which is what players do when they’re defending the goal on a corner kick up 1-0 with less than two minutes to play.  Simply put: it’s that defining moment when the game hangs in the balance.
So if you’re a passionate player, coach, fan or dedicated parent – congratulations, you’ve just found the most important soccer resource you’ll ever need.

GEL in US Soccer

December 8, 2006

Through the course of discussion about what we want to do to help the soccer community, a good friend of mine sent me a link to the GEL Organization, which is "Good Experience Live".  There are a series of videos that I wanted to share as the mission of GEL assimilates to the primary purpose of Ziga-Zoga - bring people together to share and grow in and with the game.

Videos of note include:  Jimmy Whales, Wikipedia - Craig Newmark, Craigslist - and Jason Fried, 37 Signals to name a few.  Check them out here and enjoy.

Reaching Out to Soccer Bloggers

December 1, 2006

The following email was sent out via the socblogs mail list pending
approval for distribution.  Due to the attached file size it may not be
approved so, below is the message with screen shots of the attachment:

Dear Fellow Soccer Bloggers:

I am reaching out to you to discuss
the attached soccer community development project (see Ziga-Zoga screen
shots enclosed).  I would like to organize a National conference call
with in the next few weeks and need to get a head count on how many of
you would like to learn more about the initiative.  We have been
working on this for some time and are in the final stages of
implementation.

Also, I would like to find out how many of you would like to meet at the NSCAA Convention in January?

Here is a link to a 3 question registration

survey.  If for some reason the link does not work copy and paste the following into your browser:
